WomenÕs Health Are
you suffering from pregnancy related back or neck pain? Do
you experience incontinence of urine or stool? Have you been experiencing
pain with sitting that just won't subside? Are you experiencing
pelvic pain or is intercourse painful? Has your range of motion
decreased following surgery for breast cancer? If you have answered
yes to any of these questions, then Holistic Physical Therapy
Services may be right for you.
We offer comprehensive women's health services that are delivered by
highly specialized physical therapists in each of the following areas:
- Urinary Incontinence: There are several types of urinary incontinence
including: stress, urge, overflow, and mixed. All have different
causes, but can be improved with the conservative measures that we
offer including biofeedback, pelvic floor strengthening, and behavior
modification.
- Fecal Incontinence: In many cases, weakening of the pelvic
floor muscles is the most common cause. You will learn how to
retrain your muscles for effective bowel movements and learn how to
strengthen weak musculature.
- Colo-Rectal Disorders: We offer treatment
for coccydynia, non-relaxing puborectalis, constipation, anismus,
proctalgia fugax, and general anal pain syndromes.
- Pelvic Pain: Too many women go undiagnosed and untreated with
pelvic pain syndromes including: vulvar vestibulitis, vulvodynia, dyspareunia,
and interstitial cystitis. Our specialists utilize internal
manual techniques to decrease pelvic floor hypertonus, biofeedback
to encourage relaxation, and a variety of self-care techniques to speed
the progression toward recovery. We can help you lower your
pain and return to improved function. We also are networked with some
of the best clinical social workers and psychologists in the area to
meet the needs of our clients who have a history of sexual abuse or
trauma.
- Pre and Post Natal: At Holistic Physical Therapy Services,
we believe that pregnancy should be a time of happiness and well-being. Our
pregnancy specialists are trained to help you decrease pregnancy-related
pain and prepare you for a healthy labor and delivery.
- Breast Cancer: Our breast cancer specialists are trained to
help you improve and restore your range of motion, strength and body
awareness following lumpectomy, mastectomy, or reconstructive surgery. Our
approach is manually based and focuses on decreasing pain and increasing
function.
- Lymphedema: Whether your lymphedema developed days or years
ago, our specialists are trained to help you better manage your symptoms. As
recognized by the International Society of Lymphology, our approach
to treatment incorporates Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT) which
is the gold standard in the US today.
