At Holistic Physical Therapy Services, Inc., our clinical team consists of highly specialized Physical Therapists, Certified Athletic Trainers, Physical Therapist Assistants and Licensed Massage Therapists that practice collaboratively within the southern Maine medical community. We take great pride in the high level of clinical expertise that we can offer our clients and are passionate about our work!
Susan Ramsey, PT, MA
Susan Ramsey is the owner of Holistic Physical Therapy Services, Inc. She received her B.S. in Physical Therapy from Ithaca College and her Masters of Arts Degree in Applied Psychology from the University of Santa Monica. Susan has been teaching and practicing holistic physical therapy for over 25 years. Susan strongly believes that each client deserves to be seen and treated as a whole person, not just as an injured part.
Ryan Genevieve Bailey, DPT
Ryan is originally from central New York and earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of New England. She has received advanced training in evaluation and treatment of women’s and men’s pelvic floor health, including incontinence and pelvic pain. She enjoys working with patients of all ages and diagnoses with a passion for working with prenatal/postpartum women for both orthopedic and women’s health issues.
Ryan uses a variety of manual techniques to balance the body’s musculoskeletal system while using a Pilates-based approach for functionally training of movement patterns and postural support. Her philosophy is a partnership between practitioner and patient to facilitate the healing process using both education, treatment, exercise and a program for home.
Joanne Blanchard, PT, MSB
Joanne graduated from Simmons College with her BS in Physical Therapy. She went on to receive a Masters of Science in Business from Husson College. Joanne has more than 30 years of experience in physical therapy in various practice settings including: Rhode Island Hospital, the Osteopathic Hospital of Maine/Brighton Medical Center and the Visiting Nurse Association in South Portland.
Joanne has specialized in the treatment of women's health physical therapy since 1998 when she joined InterMed/Generations as their first women's health physical therapist. Since joining Holistic Physical Therapy Services in 2004, Joanne continues to specialize in treating pelvic floor dysfunction, musculoskeletal problems and low back pain. Her treatment approach includes manual therapy techniques, core stability programs, and education. Joanne believes that this approach ensures that patients will successfully manage independantly when treatment is complete.
Stacie Blier Fedorka, MPT
Originally from Fort Kent, Maine, Stacie has been practicing physical therapy in South Portland since 2000. Stacie received her Bachelor's degree in Biology from Notre Dame College in 1998 and her Masters of Physical therapy degree from Notre Dame College in 2000. Since 2000 Stacie has worked in Maine and received advanced training in the McConnell approach, Rocabado approach, and evaluation and treatment of women's incontinence and pelvic pain.
Stacie has a true dedication to ensure the wellness of her clients. She believes that the key to treatment is through manual techniques, postural and movement education and exercise using a Pilates-based approach to guide the body's intrinsic ability to heal and restore normal function. Stacie specializes in the treatment of general orthopedics, post-operative rehabilitation, spine rehab and women's health.
Julie Brown, LMT
Julie Brown has been working in the healing arts field since 1999. She is a Nationally Certified and State Licensed Massage Therapist and a member of ABMP (Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals). She received her massage training from the Polarity Realization Institute in Portland in 1999. She brings with her 17 years of medical experience and knowledge in health and wellness as a personal trainer.
Along with Massage Therapy, Julie has studied Oncology Massage, Polarity Therapy, Reiki, and Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy. Julie is a part of the volunteer MT program at Mercy Hospital's Oncology Department. She has a great passion for working with cancer patients and soothing the effects of treatment through bodywork. Each session with Julie is individually crafted.
Jill Callahan-Hepburn, ATC, LAT, CSCS
Jill Graduated from Westfield State College in 1994 with a B.S. in Movement Science. She is a Certified Athletic Trainer and a NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Jill joined our team in 2006 after moving from the Boston area. Jill uses a holistic approach to movement in her work with each individual. She utilizes each individual’s strengths and learning preferences to assist in the education of their body. She believes that we can all learn to create a better physical and emotional balance within ourselves. She strives to use the entire body to support itself in all aspects of rehabilitation and fitness. In her management roles of our Rehab Studio and Wellness Center, Jill strives to provide the ultimate environment for every individual to learn, practice and participate in their own journey toward better health.
Jill is an active sailor and enjoys life with her husband and children.
Anna Chornyak, MPT
Anna Chornyak PT, MS, originally from Calais, Maine, received her Master's degree in Physical Therapy from Springfield College in 2006. After graduation she moved to Washington, D.C. and worked at National Rehabilitation Hospital where she developed evaluation and treatment skills of patients in the inpatient setting in their initial stages of recovery.
After backpacking around the world in 2009, Anna moved back to Maine to follow her passion of practicing as a holistic therapist. She has always enjoyed helping a variety of patients achieve their goals through combining traditional and holistic approaches to treatment. Anna is currently living in Portland.
Teryn Clark, ATC
Teryn Clark graduated from the University of Southern Maine in August of 2008 with a degree in Athletic Training and a minor in Holistic Health. She works in the Rehabilitation Studio assisting in building home exercise programs as well as teaching fitness pilates classes on the reformer in the Holistic Wellness Center. Recently she passed her certification exam for Athletic Training and is looking to continue working with athletes and training them to understand their bodies using Pilates principles.
Jennifer Daggett, MPT
Jennifer received her Masters in Physical Therapy from Husson College in Maine in 2001. Since practicing in Maine, Jennifer has received advanced training in the Kinesiotaping and Mulligan Approach, and in the treatment of pregnant and post partum women. She recently has been trained in the evaluation and treatment of children with bowel and bladder dysfunction.
Jennifer believes that prevention is the key. She uses a combination of manual therapy, postural awareness methods and strengthening to assist her clients to move with more freedom. Jennifer enjoys working with all patients, including all aspects of orthopedics such as spinal rehab and pre and post natal care for women. She is excited to offer assistance for those children with bowel and bladder dysfunction. Originally from Naples Maine, Jennifer now lives in Windham.
Lesley Hoey, DPT, CYT
Lesley is a lifelong student of movement, fitness and health. Her interest in therapeutic movement began while learning to cope with chronic back and hip pain. Her training has been, and continues to be diverse, starting with classical ballet at 5 years of age. Over the years, her training expanded to include a variety of dance styles, exercise physiology, Somatics, Yoga and more recently Body Rolling. Lesley graduated from Springfield College with a B.A. in Health Fitness, more commonly known as Exercise Physiology, and received her doctorate in Physical Therapy from University of New England.
Lesley is a certified yoga teacher through Integrative Yoga Therapy and has completed Introductory Iyengar teaching training with Patricia Walden, prenatal yoga training with Judith Lasater and has traveled to India to study with the Iyengars at their institute in Pune. She taught at Portland Yoga Studio before opening and running River Yoga and Movement Center until deciding to return to school to study physical therapy.
Kelly Jordan, MS, ATC, LAT
Kelly is a graduate of the University of Southern Maine with a B.S. in Sports Medicine in Athletic Training. She received her M.S. in Athletic Training from the Florida International University College of Nursing and Health Sciences. During her residency training, Kelly obtained extensive experience covering middle school, high school, college, and professional events.
In her role at HPTS, Kelly feels it is important to create a safe environment which allows each client to heal, grow, and learn. Her continuing education focuses on the application of Pilates-based rehab for our practice specialties. Kelly is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association.
Lynne Saucier, PTA
Lynne earned her degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant from Becker College in 1983. In a variety of settings, she has had the opportunity to enhance her skills in orthopedics, cardiology, geriatrics and neuromuscular rehabilitation. Lynne believes through quality treatment and education every person has the potential to live a pain-free and healthy life.
Michelle Sirois, PT, CLT-LANA
Michelle earned her degree in physical therapy from Quinnipiac University in 1989 and became a Certified Lymphedema Therapist in 2005. Michelle specializes in breast cancer rehabilitation, oncology rehabilitation, and lymphedema treatment using CDT.
Her treatment approach uses a variety of manual techniques, exercise and education to facilitate a return to pain free function and wellness. Michelle uses a holistic approach, evaluating the whole person to determine the cause of imbalances and to treat the source of pain and dysfunction. Her philosophy is to facilitate the body's innate ability to heal and to develop efficient pain free movement using a Pilates based approach to neuromuscular re-education.
Michelle enjoys working with all musculoskeletal injuries including spine, peripheral joints, headaches, and cancer rehab clients. Michelle enjoys teaching Pilates at Holistic Wellness Center and educating the community about lymphedema.
Michelle grew up in Maine and enjoys living here with her husband and two children.
Marny Witas, PT
Marny received her B.S. in Physical Therapy from the University of New England in 1992. Marny is a Maine native and has lived and worked in the Portland vicinity for 15 years. Her continuing education focuses on advancing orthopedic manual therapy skills and enhancing her abilities to evaluate and treat pelvic floor function and dysfunction. Marny has specialized in this population since 1994. She enjoys working with prenatal/postpartum women on the musculoskeletal changes that occur during pregnancy.
Marny uses a combination of manual therapy techniques to help balance and normalize the musculoskeletal system preparing the body's retraining process. She then utilizes an active Pilates-based exercise approach to restore normal movement patterns, as postural reeducation is a strong focus in all her clientele. She believes that guiding her patient's body to an improved postural state helps reduce pain to improve function and efficiency. She is a firm believer that knowledge is power and empowers her patients by educating them on their injury, as well as providing home exercise/management skills for an independent and healthier lifestyle.
Marny lives locally with her husband and son.
