MenÕs Health
Chronic Male Pelvic Pain has puzzled the medical
community for over a century. But, at Holistic Physical Therapy Services
we believe that you do not have to continue to suffer. Working
closely with your referring physician, we utilize a combination of medical,
behavioral, and physical interventions to help alleviate and abate your
symptoms.
At Holistic Physical Therapy Services our Men's Health specialists are
trained to effectively treat symptoms associated with:
- Male Chronic Pelvic Pain (CPP): CPP usually
persists due to a hypertonus dysfunction in the pelvic floor muscles. Using
a combination of soft tissue techniques described in the Stanford Protocol,
our specialists will work closely with you to recognize pain referral
patterns and recommend techniques that will best address your pain
syndrome.
- Coccydynia: We utilize either an internal
or external approach to normalize the position of the coccyx followed
by stabilization techniques to prevent reoccurrence.
- Post-prostatectomy Pain: Similarly
to chronic pelvic pain, PPP can occur as a result of hypertonus in
the pelvic floor muscles secondary to surgery.
- Male Incontinence: In many cases, weakening of the pelvic floor muscles
is the most common cause. You will learn how to retrain and
strengthen your muscles to aid with better control of your bladder.
- Pudendal Neuralgia: Pressure or tension placed
on the pudendal nerve can contribute to or cause many pelvic and lower
quarter pain syndromes. In many cases conservative intervention
with a manual based approach can improve and in some cases, abate these
symptoms.
If you have a condition that is not listed here,
but you are seeking conservative measures please call to speak with one
of our specialists to find out if intervention by a physical therapist
may be beneficial. Contact
